This is a collection of songs composed from 2004-2008 and recorded in 2008. I’m listing them here in order of how proud I am of them (best first).
Caramel – Fusion in 7, with piano and violin on lead, based on a melody and beat I wrote many years ago
March of the Night – Haunting piece in 4
Merry Christmas of the Living Dead – Jolly, percussive theme, perhaps my most memorable tune
She Will Win – Progressive rock, variety of time signatures. The execution isn’t perfect.
This Moment – Light folk rock with a prog feel
Waking Up – orchestral piece which travels through a series of melodies
The New Color – second orchestral piece, more expansive series of melodies, ending folkily
Overture of the Living Dead – Simple repeating tune that adds more and more orchestral layers over time, much like the increasing waves of living dead that come to your hiding place until their weight is too much for your defenses to bear.
When I’d Rather Die – second prog rock piece. The execution at times makes me cringe. If you can get past the first 25 seconds, you may see where I was trying to go with it. We simply needed a lot more rehearsals before laying the tracks, and it shows in spots. I am, however, pleased with the writing.
Magic Mollusk – Recording of me messing around on drums, then I added keys myself. Sort of a fake funk. There was no click, and you can tell. My oldest daughter loves it.
J’irai au Fond – Another recording of me messing around on drums, then I added keys myself. Once again, no click. Sound clips from Night of the Living Dead.
Black Mass Transit – 3rd recording of me messing around on drums, then I added keys myself. No click.
I also wrote the music for an upcoming app game called To Be a Hero. The music can be found here in the trailer.
